Polyvinyl alcohol is compatible with a wide range of chemicals and solvents. However, some chemicals may react with the PVA molecular structure during extended periods of storage, adversely effecting solubility and causing the film to discolor and/or become brittle. These changes reduce shelf life and can be accelerated by high temperature and humidity.
